<p>Yes, I believe SIMR does give preference to Californians, esp those in the area.</p>

<p>^Yes, a couple of weeks ago actually. I will be attending the SIMR program through the Arthritis Foundation Northern California Chapter (so I’ll be doing immunological research, but I don’t know my specific lab assignment yet).</p>
<p>Was there a SAT cutoff?</p>
<p>Is around 2200 good enough, or are they more selective?</p>
<p>There is no published SAT cutoff that I know of, though accepted students tend to score well on the PSAT or SAT.</p>
<p>Several 2400 and 240 scores were turned down this year.</p>
