Simultaneous Majors

How easy does Berkeley make it to double major between schools? I applied to CED for Urban Studies, but I'm interested in also majoring in Poli Sci at L&S. I know at some universities it's a breeze to double major, while at others it's possible but would mean you wouldn't have time to take any extra classes in subjects that don't have to do with your majors. Thanks.

Double majoring is easy. Simultaneous majors are more difficult.

Two majors in different colleges (e.g. Environmental Design and Letters and Science) will have to fulfill breadth requirements for each college, in addition to the major requirements for the majors. You will have to choose breadth courses very carefully if there is not enough free elective space around the two majors to allow taking extra breadth courses.

breadth requirements between CED and L&S are nearly identical, so don’t sweat it.
