1870 out of 2400. Verbal 620 and Math 660 on SAT I
500 on SAT II U.S History
Plan on taking SAT II MATH I (omg last day for registration is today lol)
using the collegeboard scale my GPA is a 3.3
MY grades frst quarter as a senior are a mixture of mostly D's and C's with one or two B's and of course an A in gym ahaha. I have 7 classes btw
but this is because from 4 honors classes I jumped to 3 Honors and 2 AP's. I'm having a hard time getting by. Im hoping colleges will see I'm challenging myself. But I'm afraid they might think I was careless.

My EC. I dont have alot

First generation college student

I plan to major in film. Tisch is indeed the best thing EVER!!! lol

Does it matter how good your SAT II scores are?

If I dont get into any of my college choices (I dont have a safety. I have high expectations) I plan on going to New York Film Academy for a year and reapplying to NYU. What do you think about this idea?

NYFA is not an accredited college so it's unlikely to make a difference in whether or not you're admitted to NYU. Why do you want to major in film? Your e/c's don't seem to indicate that this is a true passion of yours.

I don't see why you think you're first quarter senior year grades are funny when letters like D and C are appearing on your transcript. You shoudl really make a strong push and up those...since NYU will be wanting them and a downward trend doesn't speak well for your chances.

Your SAT scores are on the low side, although I don't know if they are as important with Tisch.

Unless you submit and out of this world video in your application, I don't see you getting in as of now.

You're not getting in. Your grades are terrible and SATs are low. You don't have many accomplishments. Look into a different film school. QNY is correct, your grades are nothing to laugh off.

It's not like I want terrible grades. It was just a big jump and I'm starting to ease into it. 2nd quarter grades should get a lot better.
I already know NYU is pushing it but I'm applying for the hell of it. Just wanted to know how big of an impossibility it was.
