i applied ED Brown and i havnt started RD apps either... i'd say you have a good shot at Penn since you did ED and your parents work there. But, just out of curiosity, you're definitely into nursing, but i dont see much in your app to hint at that.

thanks guys! anyone else??

to itsgametime: yea....i am into nursing but i really didn't decide on that major until recently....i was interested in it before but i always thought it was a grad school thing where u do bio major first and then do nursing..so i didn't really prepare in high school...i wished i did volunteering at hospital and stuff..but it's too late now..

Haha, I'm the same way. I applied ED to WashU StL and I just can't start the RD apps. On the inside I think I'm banking on getting in, but I know I shouldn't do that. I really need to start my RD apps, cuz if I get deferred, I'll have a lot of work to do. Anyway, solid shot at UPenn and I hope you get in so you don't have to do those RD apps!

And you're probably in at the rest, but WashU and Brown will be very tough.

BTW thanks for chancing me.

guitarman89: thank! hope u get into washu ED too!!

common guys....100 views only 3 replies??
plzz chance me?! i promise to chance back

Forget about Washington University, I think. Their criteria for admissions goes WAY up during regular admission, since they like their early admission candidates (interest is a definite plus there). Your scores are very good, but not the prestigious stuff they need. Neither are your EC's.

If you want UMichigan, I would apply as soon as you read this, cause they're on rolling admissions basis. Basically the earlier you apply, the better chances you have. By now, they should have some very good applicants to compare you with, but apply ASAP if you're considering there.

Brown's a reach. But isn't if for everyone? You've got it tough there, though, cause your EC's aren't up to snuff.

Since you're OOS, UVA might be kinda tough for you. They require a lot from their OOS applicants. But I'd give you a low reach chance there. Again, EC's could hurt you a lot.

Boston College is a match for you. You're in almost for sure.

But I think you're definitely in at U-Penn. With both your parents working there, ED, and your stats, you've got U-Penn in the bag, in my opinion. Even with your mediocre EC's (which are, unfortunately, very mediocre)

buuuummmmp??

Hey star! Thanks for your response to my post. You definitely seem to have a good course load. Might I ask if you've taken your school's highest offering of math and sciences courses? But with your good grades and SAT scores I'm sure you'll do fine. Gov school is definitely a big, big plus for Penn especially cuz you live in PA. Which gov school did you attend? Cuz I have a friend who attended the Sciences gov school at PA.

Overall I think your chances for Penn are really good. Those credentials coupled with good set of common app and Why Penn essays would definitely get you in. Even if one of your essays weren't that great, the chances of you making in are still good. I have a friend who graduated two years ago from a Philly area school, his parents both worked at Penn, he had 2100 SAT I's, and 700 on two SAT II's, was barely in top 10% of his class and didn't do any extracurriculars except was member of the quizbowl team. He got into Penn early decision. But then again, I've heard his essays were phenomenal.

im thinkin most of them youll be alright on...sat may be a little low...but SAT II's bring you up quite a bit....gpa great....uva i think ull be fine.....u penn would be a good fit in my opinion. family should help.

jmancusner: thanks for the post! yea i did do the hardest math and sci courses at my high school....haha no i went to gov school for teaching sry..
