I am hoping to go into Urban Planning/Economic Development- I kind of want to work in an international realm...

I'm thinking about applying to:
Appalachian State University
New York University
North Carolina State University
University of Pennsylvania
Rutgers University- New Brunswick
University of Maryland- College Park
Temple University
University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill
Columbia University
George Washington University

Nice SAT score and very impressive extra curriculars! Combined with your minority status, I'd say you have a VERY good chance at most of your schools. However, Columbia and UPenn might be small reaches due to your GPA but you have a pretty good chance at getting into one of them.

Appalachian and NC State: safety-matches
UNC Chapel Hill: match
George Washington University: match
UM College Park: match
New York University: reach
University of Pennsylvania: REACH
Columbia University: REACH
Rutgers University: dunno
Temple University: dunno

Since you're applying to NC State, have you looked into the Park scholarship? It's nearly as prestigious as the Morehead and a great program-EXTREMELY difficult to get, though.

uvajoe...i know u think my chances are crap so i'd appreciate it if you'd stop posting...the negative bs is getting really annoying...and if you are a student at uva then why are you sweating the college aspirations of some highschool students... and thanks alien workshop for the response

I don't think he was being critical. Grade deflation is rare in most schools (and frankly, I'm surprised to find any in NC) because grade inflation is so rampant. Apparently your school is very competitive/difficult.

oh (my foot is slowly ascending to my mouth) sorry man...it wasn't even that I thought you were s****ing on my school or anything it was just I took it the wrong way...thanks guys

if i do not bump that i never did bump and there will be nothing left to be bumped after the non-existent bump takes place, but it doesn't take place because the bump was not put into action so the bump is really just a figment of your imagination

im really bored...i know it made absolutely no sense
