Which dorms have single-rooms available to freshmen? How difficult would it be to get one?

I’m bumping this because I’m also curious. I’ll be doing the RC in east quad and am hoping for a single. I’d love some input.

I believe that all the dorms have singles, it is just very difficult for a freshman to get one. If you are very lucky, maybe. They reserve some for people with disabilities that require a single room, other than that they pretty much go the the sophomores and up who stay on in the dorms.

Fredmar, thanks.

Any idea as to what room type (single, double wth private bath, etc.) priority would provide a freshmen with the highets chance of ending up in central campus?

There are very few options with private or semi-private baths on central campus. I would just take the double if central is your main priority. There are lots of singles on central but you don’t want them to squeeze you up north just to find you a single, and there are more doubles than singles. That would be my guess.

It’s easy for a freshman to get a single room in Baits II on North Campus.

hmm… is it even worth it for me to apply for a single in east quad with the RC? I’m submitting my housing app on the first day haha

anyone? [10]

For the second person: Definitely apply for a single - it cannot hurt. If you are in the RC, you will be living in East Quad regardless. So if there are singles open, you could get one and if there aren’t any open, you won’t. But it cannot hurt to state your preference for a single in your application.

why do u guys want single rooms??

^I agree. I don’t want a single. I want the “roomate experience”.
