I was wondering if anyone knows how hard it would be to get a single room within a suite? I was thinking about Hayden because they have some... but is it only for people with special reasons? and how many are there? Thanks!!

Not sure about Hayden specifically, but I knew most of the suites in the other freshman dorms only had single rooms if they shared a suite with an RA.

It depends…I’m in Third North and there definitely are singles within the larger suites!

Do you think getting a single for freshman year is a good idea? I mean I’d love to have some privacy but at the same time be in a suite with other people… but would it kind of be like shutting myself away from other people? Thanks!

My situation in freshman year: didn’t really hang out with my roommates or suite mates, but became very good friends with some other people who also lived in my dorm. However, a lot of people I knew became best friends / very good friends with their roommates / suite mates, so I’d say give it a shot. Once you get past freshman year, everyone tends to not hang out in the dorms as much, so you have 3 more years to enjoy that relative peace and quiet. Take advantage of hanging out with dorm mates while you still can.

Just my two cents. I’m in Carlyle all the time this year, and the environment is so much different than freshman dorms. Everyone stays in their own rooms and doesn’t really interact with their floor mates. I recommend you save the single for your upperclassman years.

Thanks so much! I think I’ll go for a double then :)
