I am a rising sophomore. How are singles in general? I was in a double freshman year, and didn't really like it. Are the rooms really small?

Thanks

Well, personally, I feel that a single is fine your 2nd year, because you met most of the new people in your 1st year.

Most people prefer singles (especially after having living a year in a double or a triple) because of the privacy, and personal space.

Singles are better.

Are single worth the extra money is a better question, imo.

I'm sure the size depends on the school. I got extremely lucky last year and had a single that was nearly the size of some doubles, but I'm moving into a smaller room next year.

Size and all of that will depend on your school, but I lived in a single most of my Spring quarter freshman year and I absolutely loved it.

It was about the same size as the room I shared with another girl the first two quarters and instead of having a community bath down the hall, I just shared a bathroom with one other girl in the next room. Oh, and there were two twin beds in there so for about half my stay there I had a couch made out of one of the beds an a bunch of pillows and then decided to push the beds together to have a king sized bed. It was wonderful :)

If you can afford it, then by all means go for it.

Call the housing department at your school and find out.

I'm a rising senior. I've been in singles all 3 years, and will be in a single again next year. I love it.
