Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

Belated congrats to alumother!! Time sure flies.

whooot whooot to Mathmom and Mathdad!!!

Quiet-as-a-clam son called from Engineering camp for Father’s Day and had a nice conversation with his Dad! Made me smile. :)

This may be the last graduation of Spring or first of the Summer but today was graduation day at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Midshipman Billings became Ensign Billings in the United States Navy. He’s heading for a destroyer in Yokosuka Japan. Thanks everyone for all the support over the years!

I can’t think of much that beats hundreds of white hats in the air!!

Huzzah for Ensign Billings!

Anchors Aweigh!

Congratulations LFWBdad and Ensign B!

D1 got married on Saturday–it was the perfect wedding. Ceremony was beautiful, the minister was funny and thoughtful, the groom and the bride cried, and it didn’t rain–which made the reception on the beach (in a tent) so very pleasant. Krug (for the toast) and the raw bar were big hits with guests. H and I are very happy and ready to relax.

Congrats to all!!! So exciting to hear the good news.

What did the marmot say when he walked into a bar? “Bartender, gimme a nice cold beer - I’ve got to celebrate some good news with my CC buddies!” ;)

Apparently, he thought it was the Sinner’s Alley!

Awww…Congrats and many years of happiness to Bromfield D & husband! Champagne all around!

Love the real marmot in the real bar!

just bringing up from p. 2…

Congrats to AluD!

I’ve been busy and away far too long. SB-D has also graduated… and (drumroll!!) she has a job!

:)

Marmots! Celebratory drinks all around! Boas and umbrellas to all who desire them! Such good news from so many.

Go SB-D! You’ve got one with a job, one going to college, and one around to cuddle, right? Hooray! And drinks all around with marmots in situ.

Been gone a while, but saw some old familiar names posting recently and had to check in :).

So much good news… grandmotherhood, tenure, graduations, jobs. :D

I especially liked the arrival of a new sinner who brought us back to our roots with a joke. Thanks 45_years.

jmson graduated in May and… another drumroll in the Alley… segued right into his job! (there are not enough smilies to adequately reflect the thrill of it all). He moved into his own apartment; yes, his job makes a real apartment affordable! He is really enjoying himself. DH and I especially enjoyed accompanying him around Target to buy “stuff” for the typical settling-in process, and having the credit card which came out at the register be… not ours!

DH heads down to visit him in a couple of weeks and vows that DS will take DH out to dinner! A first!

Congrats and love to all.

Hahahaha. All those kids from our day in the Alley are working? I wonder about Mootson. Well well well I think they owe us a round on them, gainfully employed as they are. Congrats again to all.

Yes, but let’s have them buy the round in some twenty-something hot spot. That way (1) we can increase our cool quotient by being seen in such a place and (2) they will not be in here. The Alley is for us… not for our offspring - gainfully employed or not.

I’m afraid they won’t see the charm of the orange Naugahyde.

Agreed…this is our space. And we don’t want them laughing at our taste in drinks, music, or bar decor.*

*which reminds me, who’s putting up the red, white, & blue bunting thingys this year? (Who remembers where we stored them?) :D

Greetings!

Just stopped in for a Mint July-p.

Hope all the old timers (I inlcude myself in the term) are doing well. D is now entering her senior year at art school and is rethinking the Fine Arts major (ya think?) and S is just starting his junior year in HS so the circle starts again.

Any have any trained Marmots that can share? I freed mine years ago.

On the personal side I have dropped almost 15 lbs in the last few months and just completed my first 10K last weekend, finishing in 26:20.

Astounding time, m&sdad! I take it you’re not new to the running game.
