SIPA notified today

So, who got in?

I got put on the waitlist. Sucks. :(

This person did. =P

http://www.yuster.com/school/get_user_profile/439

Hmmm... interesting indeed. My GRE scores were substantially higher than hers.

Oh well.

ParaguayIsCool,

Don't feel bad. They didn't like me at all. I didn't even get waitlisted.

Not that I'm necessarily a good benchmark.

But you're so lovable, Ari - how could that be???

:-P

Paraguay,

The other girl probably had like, 7 years of work experience. I didnt check out her profile, so this might not be the case, but SIPA, SAIS and Co. are really tought to get into with some relevant work experience, whereas KSG and WWS are basically impossible to get into with work experience.

also i hear ir programs are trying to up their minority students pop. since proportionally there seems to be less interest (i'm assuming tina chong is asian)

Paraguay,

Sorry to hear about SIPA, but at least you still have a chance right. I think with the top schools it is definitely a bit of a crap shoot. Good luck with the waitlist and the rest of the apps.

Asians are a minority?

In poli sci, I would imagine.

I got in (MIA). I?m probably considered a minority (Brz = Brazil), but I prefer to think that I was admitted because of my work experience, recommendations, and essays.

I got waitlisted for SIPA today. =P (March 9th)

For everyone who got rejected, don't worry. SIPA is overrated in terms of its potential outcomes for graduates. IR isn't like the business world where graduates from the Top schools have a bunch of opportunities open up upon graduation that normal MBA's don't. You can do great things in IR without going to SIPA, SAIS, KSG, WWS ect.

I got into SIPA. But I am just wondering why I didn't get any news from SAIS yet??!!! At this point, I don't count on KSG anymore...not that confident in my GPA.

I'm still waiting on SAIS and Fletcher, so don't feel alone in that! =)

COOL! 'Cause I am waiting for Fletcher as well. ^^
Don't know what's going on...SAIS said they were gonna release the results by 15th.

Anyone apply to I-Dev at SAIS? And if you got into SAIS, did they indicate your acceptance to I-Dev in the email??

I applied to I-Dev concentration. I don't think they will indicate it in the admission email, since it's okay to change your concentration later after you get in, I believe.

While its relatively easy to switch around concentrations once you are accepted to SAIS, I think the exception to this rule would be if you want to switch from another concentration into I-Dev. I-Dev is more competitive than other SAIS concentrations, thus requiring a separate application. If this is the case, then I think it woud logically follow that if you applied to the I-Dev concentration your admissions email would have something that mentioned your acceptance to the I-Dev concentration as well.

LTolbert, the email sent by SAIS Admissions mentions that "the official letter will provide detailed information regarding the terms of your admission". Probably the IDev acceptance is part of what they call 'detailed information'.
