I heard that it's common to be put on the waitlist if you get an alumni-rec just to please the alumni! anyone else think georgetown does this?
i hope not but...
i know i have mediocre scores for gtown: 2100 sat, 31 act.
if it is true that schools do this sort of thing just to make it look like they are considering the advice of alumni who are donating money- well, i think its horrible- i mean, they'd be furthering my agony for such superficial reasons. but to be fair, i suppose this whole process is superficial- and i'll accept that.</p>
<p>I got waitlisted at a couple places and to me it was the same as getting rejected. so try not to think that they're teasing you with admission, think more that you got rejected. Wow, sorry for how negative that sounded.</p>
