Do any of you know what can a kid get out of Student Introduction to Engineering (SITE) program? My DS is very interested in UIUC (EA accepted) and is his top choice school at this point. However we are wondering if that is the best way to experience UIUC before we take final decision or some other occasion...

I appreciate any insights into this.

Thanks

I’m interested in it too (just got the letter yesterday). I’m from WA. It’s such a long trip and would involve missing so much school (W/T/F) that I probably won’t attend.

If anyone who’s had a past experiance with this program would like to talk abou it, I’m sure many of us would appreciate the input.

My son is finishing up his Junior year in Aerospace Engineering. This must be a new program. I tried to check out the website, but it looks like it’s in dire need of debugging.

It seems that it may have been offered last year, but the links for this year are not in place.

The bottom line is that if you’re on the fence about accepting your offer, or you’d like a taste of what engineering is like at UIUC, then this 3 day immersive experience is likely the best way to understand/experience the campus, academic environment, and engineering.

Maybe one of the activities would be to fix the links/frames/divs on what looks to be the website…(I’m sure it will be fixed soon)

I confirmed my spot already, but I’m slightly hesitant to book my tickets and send in the deposit for the same reasons (expensive flights, time off, etc). Can someone shed some light on whether or not this program is really worth it? I’ve never seen the campus before, so I need to visit some time; I’m just not sure this program is the best time to do so.
Has anyone else already registered?
