Student Introduction to Engineering at UIUC‏??

Hey just got an email for this program which says
"Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Illinois! The Engineering Council and the College of Engineering are pleased to invite you to attend the 2014 Student Introduction To Engineering (SITE) program. Your placement among the top applicants to the University this year has qualified you to participate in this student-run learning experience."

Is thing sent out to everyone or is it really only top applicants?

bump…

My son got this letter too. Am curious too whether this is being sent out to all admitted students or not.

bumpppppppp

I got it too, but I doubt I am one of the top applicants

You are under-evaluating yourselves. All those admitted to engineering in December are considered to be “top applicants to the university.” So yes, all engineering applicants admitted in December should receive the invite. The three day program is in Feb and it is a combination of informational sessions on engineering at UIUC, get togethers with students, faculty and staff, and participation in some projects.

Has anyone been before? Could anyone provide any insight into the program?
