I know SEAS is around 1600 in total with about 400 freshmen.

Does anyone have a breakdown of the individual departments, such as BE, EE, etc?

i heard that mse, cbe, and dmd are small programs be, cs, me, and ee are larger

Hello,

I am freshman in CBE now, our department is about 70 people now and it's about to grow larger when more people join second year. Also, BE is very big here at Penn, about 150 freshman, quite a number of whom are pre-med. I couldn't really tell you about the other engineering majors...

Whoa...150 out of about 400 for just BE is quite a lot.
If about 1/4 are premed, then there are about 40 premed.

I read that only about 4 or 5 get into med school from SEAS.
If the 40 SEAS premed is true, then that's a ridiculous ratio.

What happened?

bumpppppppppp

CS is around 80 a year or so I believe (or at least that's what it starts out at..), though i'm not sure if that counts the DMD people (they're kind of CS really..)

Thanks.

Are there official or pretty accurate figures for all the departments available?

Someone on CC showed me this the other day.

Here you can find the number of degrees awarded every year (click the link for the graduating year you want under the Career Survey list), as well as salary figures broken down by major, industry, etc. It's pretty detailed.

Thanks very much. Very informative.

But the file still does not show how many degrees were awarded per department. Is this available anywhere or does anyone know?
