Does anyone know for seas

the overall admit rate… and the ed admit rate… i always wondered that but penn always combines the things for college and seas… only differentiating wharton and nursing

Q: How many applications did Penn Engineering receive this year?
A: There were a total of 2,713 freshman applications for the 2004-2005 cycle.

Q: What is the size of Penn Engineering's Freshman Class?
A: The average freshman class size is 410 students.

-penn seas website

***... that's a crazy bad admit rate... is it harder to get into than the college???

and i was wondering about ed tho, like how much it'll help

i have another question... is the cas application form different from the seas one?

haha, dont know how to answer those questions, sorry! i just pasted those from the website bc they on the acceptance letter

wait... but is the application the same? for the college and for seas... just a little box to check?

Yes, it is.

the numbers that oats posted doesn't have the yield for engineering students, so it doesn't say anything about the admit rate for seas. I'm probably going to seas anyway, but if anyone manages to dig up the numbers, it'd be helpful

yep... prospective 010 seas student here... wanted to know the advantage given to ed kids...

can the people who got in post their stats... i would very much like to see how i stack up...

i found regular admit rates:

The School of Engineering and Applied Science also saw little change from last year, as it accepted the same number of students, 850, with an admittance rate of 32 percent, 0.3 percent lower than last year's.

So it's a LOT easier to get into than wharton, which is around 13.6% but not as easy as nursing, which is 41.8%. No info here on ED stats

cujoe, there were a lot of seas kids posting here:

thanks!.......

i see penn doesn't like 1500-1550 scores... they like the 1490> and >1560's lol

Yeah, just to clarify a little, SEAS may have a higher admit rate than some of the other schools, but overall the applicant pool is actually more competitive.. We had an average SAT of 1490 for the class of 08, compared with I think a 1380 overall.. So it's a higher admit rate, but not necessarily easier

ouch... i wonder how a 2130 on the new sats would stack up... i got a 790 on math... 1 freakin prob wrong!
