Trying to understand about GPA calculation for CS transfer to SJSU and also about impaction.
http://www.sjsu.edu/admissions/impaction/impactionresultstransfer/index.html#ComputerScience
The Fall 2019 Impactions page says:
Computer Science
Applicants who completed five course requirements were admitted above a 3.30 GPA.
Applicants who completed four course requirements were admitted above a 4.30 GPA.**
This major did not have the enrollment capacity to admit applicants with fewer than four course requirements completed.
Q1. The GPA’s listed above are calculated using ALL courses taken in community colleges and that are transferable to SJSU? Or is it calculated some other way?
Q2. What are the 5 course requirements for CS? I found two different sets of 5 courses. One in assist.org and one in this page: http://www.sjsu.edu/admissions/impaction/program-specific-coursework/program-impaction-transfer-coursework/index.html#ComputerScience Which one is the correct 5 course requirement for CS transfer?
Q3. If student is applying in Fall 2019 hoping to transfer in Fall 2020, to be competitive, the 5 courses have to be completed and passing grades received when applying in October/November 2019? Or can they be part of the courses in progress in Fall 2019 whose grades are known by early January?
Thank you for any inputs.
