SJSU MIS vs Cal poly Pomona CIS

Hello all! So I currently have been admitted to SJSU for their MIS program and am awaiting for a response from cal poly pomona. I was wondering which program would lead to better job prospects. If I go to Cal Poly Pomona I’ll join the FAST club and maybe the MISSA club as well which are both good clubs for my major. Also it is a requirement for the degree to do a systems development project which gives good job experience. For SJSU, its in the Silicon Valley and I would try to get into their honors program which would allow me to do a systems development project for job experience. Which program would you guys’ recommend?

SJSU especially if you can do honors.

Any specific reasons why? Also looking at their curriculum SJSU is more business oriented while CPP is more technical. If I am trying to go into cyber security would SJSU still be better since I have read the CPP often goes to nationals for the cybersecurity defense competition which they host.

I just graduated from CPP last March with a B.S. is CS. and I was actually part of the school’s CCDC team. I can attest that CPP’s cyber security focus is very good, this is due mostly to a few specific faculty members who are doing some awesome research and also have some excellent connections within industry and the government. In general, the CS and CIS students there seem to be if not more focused on security, then at least more aware of security principles than I’d expect. I know a lot of students who make the drive out to Vegas every year for Defcon and who are knowledgeable about new developments in the field.

CPP is better for cybersecurity and has a good honors program. Did you get into it?
Sjsu + honors means prime location and accelerated gen ed sequence.
