Im so confused, didn’t the acceptance letter list the scholarships. Maybe I am getting them confused

Damn on top of what mine originally got they just included another 11k a year. She originally got 25k and now there is an additional 11k grant.
They added an additional 5K to dd’s original 28K. I was pleasantly surprised! (hadn’t quite recovered from the Fordham disaster yesterday lol)
And just like that, it’s becoming more affordable and back in the running
Our son was offered an additional 11K combined Regis grant and housing grant.
We are very happy here
St. Joe’s is a popular choice from our high school. Everyone I know that goes there really likes it. They also seemed to handle covid pretty well. It seems like a nice school.
Tonight’s webinar for parents had some good information. They said for anyone who missed it, it was recorded and should be available in 72 hours on their website at sju.edu/admitted. They also shared a long list of webinars for a variety of topics they will be hosting in the next few weeks. Edited to add, there is a financial aid webinar this Thursday for anyone who has questions.
So I’m looking at the financial letter. Is the meal plan really that expensive for the year? $5400?
I don’t have a student at SJU but I have two older kids who attended different colleges and we pay/paid more for their meal plans than $5400. College costs are a racket these days.
shoot I missed that what was the webinar about tonight? I am reg for the fin aid one thurs. I don’t see any recordings from tonight…?
Yes their housing is also pretty pricey compared to other schools mine has applied to!
The one tonight was for parents. It was a lot of general info. Started out talking about how they have been handling COVID. Then lots of info about all kinds of things - upcoming admitted students days, on campus tours, choosing housing, services like advising, academic support, choosing a major, etc. There was a lot of Q&A. They said the recorded version would be available in about 72 hours. There is a similar one next Monday for students. Do you get the weekly email SJU sends out on Sundays? The emails include links to upcoming webinars. Students can also sign up for upcoming webinars on the sju.edu/accepted page using their student log in info. The one tonight did not require a log in, but you had to register by using the link in the email and then a link to the webinar was sent an hour beforehand. They will also be offering one on one sessions for kids to talk with a current student, as well as small group sessions to talk with professors. Many (but not all) of the upcoming sessions are already listed on the “accepted page” I referenced above.
I attended the session last night too and I appreciated that they seemed to answer the questions without too much reliance on platitudes, especially the top speaker and the middle speaker.
I kept thinking that I probably “know” some parents on the zoom. If some of our students commit, they might meet in RL too next Fall. Small internet connected world.
You are very fortunate. They must really want her. Would you mind sharing her stats?
If you have a boy, it’s worth it! When our son returned home from SJU, we could not believe the grocery bills!
That is incredible! Congrats!
3.85/4.67 gpa. Test optional. Lots of clubs and activities
Yes. They handled Covid so much better than most of the other schools my son’s friends attend. And they had a welcome back party on Friday (outside, socially distanced of course).
Not a deciding factor for us by any means. My son received a generous scholarship and we loved SJU on our summer tour. It is in our top three right now. We are big believers in nutritional health and I have been kind of surprised by the terrible reviews on the food and meal plans. I understand that this is something that gets bashed at many colleges, but from my extensive research SJU must rank at the bottom of all thirteen schools my son applied to regarding the food. Again, it will not be the ultimate factor by any means, but disheartening to send him somewhere knowing the food is lousy by nearly all accounts. Any insights would be welcomed.
