i got my acceptance email about 3 hours ago
@ctgirl1001 is it an early write? are you also invited to attend a tour?
@zekosadieurokrem yes the discovery tour
[International student, attending school in NY and on spring break in Boston] Just got back from roaming around Boston to find an email saying I was accepted into Skidmore! I was pretty confused as the email was under the Promotions tab on Gmail lol. I’m pretty excited and relieved, seeing as I was rejected by another college earlier this week. No word yet on my financial aid package but they said they’ll send an email later. Good luck to everyone else who’s waiting on word (I suggest checking that pesky Promotions tab ) I reckon we should form a chat group for the Discovery Tour on campus, if anyone wants to
Congratulations to everyone who got accepted!
I’m getting nervous by the day… probably just overthinking the fact that I haven’t gotten the email yet.
haha seemed some domestic students also got the “early” kind of acceptance. Congratulations!
D also got acceptance email (NY) and invitation to Discovery Tour, seems very similar to the Lehigh Diversity Life Day
Spring16, do you also have a child at Lehigh? My daughter was accepted to Skidmore ED2 and was invited to the discovery tour today. She will be attending because she can’t wait to spend even more time on campus. Good luck to those waiting for news.
@Britsmum no student at Lehigh, D has a friend who was invited to their Diversity Life Weekend and it sounds very similar, my daughter definitely loves Skidmore (is planning to swim there and wants Biology) so will most likely go to the Discovery Tour.
Awesome! My daughter also plans to major in bio and is a recruited swimmer. I do also have a daughter at lehigh.
@Spring16 message me if your daughter would like to connect with my daughter before the discovery tour.
Received an email about my financial aid today. Looks really good, a total of $57K including my outside scholarship. My only concern is how we’ll scrape together the extra $10K. My mom is a single parent and earns about $6K a year (we live in a different country). Does anyone have any tips?

Look for more outside scholarships? There are some competitions you can take part in that may give you scholarships (or monetary prizes). And assuming you haven’t done so, there are a lot of outside scholarships/benefactors who may be willing to support you.
-
Part-time job? Idk how it is about internationals, but students can get part-time jobs or work in the campus for some extra money.

Ask the school for more aid. $57k is a lot of money, but you can try asking the school for more aid (and make sure to explain your situation well. Financial aid officers are humans, after all, meaning they have hearts. They may be willing to help you out a bit more). I mean, it doesn’t hurt to try, right?
Idk if this helps, but I hope it does…! Good luck and may everything turn out well!! :x
@Grapess thank u <3
ctgirl1001, are the decisions already out for Skidmore’s RD applicants? I am an int’l student from Nepal. I neither got emails nor a mail yet from Skidmore.
@kckusal99 we’re getting them later, don’t worry
@zekosadieurokrem , when exactly is that “later” ? Any idea? I am likely to be rejected on account of being international needing a lot of aid, so panicking right now.
@kckusal99 Hāmī tyahī avasthāmā chan (if I’m not mistaken)
I believe they are releasing them on the 25th
@zekosadieurokrem , you are a Nepali or you just happen to know Nepali?
@kckusal99 I just happen to know some idioms, but not much :))
