Anyone hear anything about the completion of the new bioengineering building? I haven’t been on campus since April and it was nowhere near complete then. Have they/will they finish it in time for class this Fall?

what part of the campus was it being constructed. I visited twice in the last month or so and I know that there was some construction going on.

It's across from David Rittenhouse Lab on 34th street I think.

I wouldn't say it was nowhere close to being done in April... I had classes in DRL everyday and walked by it repeatedly, and they made tremendous progress on it all year. I also heard (before leaving campus) that it was perfectly on schedule... I just don't remember when it was due to be complete.

I've always heard that it would be completed some time this upcoming semester.

i was a bioengineering major and they said it would be done by my soph year (which is 06). now i switched out and i dont want to look at the building again. but it's supposed to be really beautiful though..

According to the Daily Pennsylvanian, the building should have opened by mid-June. I would expect it to take some time for faculty to move into it though, maybe in time for the fall semester.

ah, thanks for the clarification abhim... i guess i must have gotten it confused with one of the other ongoing construction projects. In any case, hopefully it's ready to go for the upcoming year.

does anyone know about how many building projects there are? Because I saw a lot of them.

what is "the hub"?

well i snuck into skirkanich a few weeks ago and it wasn't quite ready; an email sent to all BE students said that it will be open for class on 9/1 (and several lab facilities are already up and running).
