Hi. I'm an international student. Which of the three do you think is the best way to communicate with family outside of the US.
What about cell phones? Calling from home to the US is not very expensive. Can I take my cell to the US, or I have to buy it in the states to make it work?

You can take your cellphone to the US however you have to change the card inside it. Global roaming is not funny when it shows up on the billing lol. I would consider a company like Vonage (and many others like it) that uses internet but also land lines so your parents can hook up the phone to a special router. That way they still use a phone instead of a computer.

well illl say get ur family online when u want to talk and talk on either yahoo orr google .. coz well u dont actually need skype now as both yahoo and goole offer equally voice quality .. so well as in previous days no longer hold equal validity..

my word would be on yahoo and google as i presume u wud be using that already so wel wont need anythign extra..and they are free awesome convenient and quality and well ease of use

spot on SM...however a friend of mine had problems woth google talk as his uni firewalls blocked it...so he uses skype now...thats a factor as well...

true.. very true.. that is one factor u need to get clear of while entering the university... firewalls can be one big pain coz some university go to limits of blocking forums and community blogs too.. let along messengers and peer to peer softfwares..
