Slightly Wealthy Asian Male could never Get In?

Hey guys,

I had a quick question. I am a slightly wealthy asian(indian) male and Stanford is a pretty big on diversity and it seems that I have close to 0 chance of getting in no matter what in my application. I was just wondering if any of you know any wealthy asian males who have been accepted into Stanford and what type of stats they had.

Thanks,
youngster9

Untrue. If they want diversity (which they do have), then they’ll have some slightly wealthy Asian males in the student population! I guess you’ll just have to stand out.

By the way, I know many slightly wealthy Asian males there… so don’t worry about it.
Besides, you can’t really change that stuff, so focus on something else!

Thanks AforAmbition,

I guess I am just having a bad day and was wondering whether I still have a chance just with my income bracket and race. My guidance counselor told me that Stanford said it was looking for African Americans with good grades to be accepted.

Negative. You definitely can get in. Class of '14 here, parents made well above average amounts of income. Just depends on you really.
