anyone seen it its amazing!!

IS IT REALLY?
i went to see it but the tickets were sold out!
i have to go see it another time!

it was nice...a little funny, a little sad, a little dramatic, a little romantic, and a little happiness

I really, really wanted to go see it this weekend. I hope they're still playing it on the next. But, it's rated R :( [ I think for violence].

GREAT MOVIE. I watched it before it became popular. It's weird how it became an overnight sensation.

yeah its funny that a indian/british movie was sold out last night in the middle of mississippi haha

I love how its getting soooo many awards :) It was absolutely amazing...I totally have a little crush on Dev Patel. The music is amazing too, but that's to be expected with AR Rahman.

Dev Patel is cute. So is the girl. She's so pretty!! And I just LOVE the music!!

It became popular after it won tons of Critics Choice and Golden Globe awards. That probably made it go to wide release.

Though when I saw it a month or two ago, it was still in limited release but the theater was still full.

I thought the acting was really great. I personally thought older Salim did the best job.

hmm...everybody except for the composer and some advisers were either british or british indian

EDIT: nah that's not true sry

I saw it yesterday and I really enjoyed it. The best movie I've seen in theaters for a long time.

I LOVED it! It was so great, and I agree, it's the best movie I've seen for a while.

It was no doubt a great movie, but it was just a little too intense for me.

I think the point of the movie was to be intense.

I think it was to spread awareness of the horrors of India. It was so sad how the slums of Mumbai were right next to the luxury skyrise hotels and buildings.

Great movie, 8/10.

Thousands of Bollywood movies just like this one have been made, but this is the only one that gets any attention from the West because it was made by a Brit. Seems kind of silly to me.

Not to mention, A.R. Rahman has made over 50 high-quality soundtracks, but he doesn't get any recognition for ANY of them until this one (which isn't any better than the preceding 50) simply because it was the only one in a film popular in the West.

This just screams how unfair and completely arbitrary these awards shows are. =/

Yawn, I totally agree with you. It's was pretty funny when my entire school had all this gossip about how great this movie this was when pretty much all Indian movies have the same plot, which is ALWAYS (90%) about love. I'm Bangladeshi American and my entire school used to have stereotypes against me but this movie kind of proved them wrong.

And about A.R Rahman...the music in this movie wasn't even produced in the full extent of talent he has. This was actually sub-par (I think the music was great but for his standards I know he didn't take his time ~ 2 weeks to produce the music) compared to the 1000's of others he's made.

Great movie...won Best Film at the Golden Globes, let's see how it fares at the Oscars.

Bollywood movies aren't in English, though. This one is (atleast some parts of it). That has made all the difference.

And it's brilliant compared to the other nominated movies, and that's what matters. Milk is the only other movie that might have been better.

I mean I really liked this film, but it's not "the best movie ever." Maybe it's because I'm used to seeing Bollywood films that are similar. Regardless, AR Rahman is awesome. About time he got the recognition he deserves!
