small school, big social life?

whats a good liberal arts schools with a BIG social scene?

whats your definition of a "big social scene?

somewhere where i can get the small school education but the big school social life, you know, football games and lots of team spirit,

I don't know what your academic situation is, but Williams has a lot of school spirit and support for athletics. So do most of the schools in that conference- Amherst, Middlebury etc. Colgate and Lafayette might be other options for you.

Holy Cross and Colgate are 2 of the best. Although HC plays in a much larger stadium-25,000 vs Colgate's 7,000. Holy Cross also has very good men's and women's basketball teams that make the NCAA's most years.

yea i was thinking that those schools would have big ones. wish i could go there, I am applying to middlebury, but its a reach. What about smaller schools like denison, and depauw ect. thanks guys!

Purdue University - West Layfette would be a good match for you. Its a small town with a lot of school spirit. i dont know what you want to major in but if you like engineering...it would be perfect for you since it is ranked in the top 10 also

Denison has a lot of school spirit. Attendance at football games is apparently increasing, now that the team is winning. Regardless of sport, any contest against Ohio Wesleyan generally draws a large crowd.

Washington & Lee is a small school with a very active party scene and lots of spirit.

It seems Bucknell would be a good choice

they have a good basketball team and it is a LAC

I think Lafayette is also in this vein-- with sports and a fun social life.

But purdue isnt a small school, nor is it a lac. Claremont colleges might fit the bill. They are small schools themselves, but when you add all the schools together it adds up to about 10,000 students

Claremont colleges aren't exactly bursting with school spirit. They're more low-key.

denison? great I am applying there. Everyday I get less and less happy looking at the smaller school sjust because I am scared I wont be able to get that college feel, you know. I want a school that I feel like I have an option to go out and meet new people.

Lafayette is weak in the Patriot League- football over-shadowed by Lehigh and its basketball team is usually in bottom half while Holy Cross and Bucknell usually win.
