Small town student...Big town college

Ok so i live in this extremely tiny village and there are probably a total of 300 people living there altogether... i am looking at University of Central Florida which has approx. 50000 students, i really want to go there but i am afraid i do not know enough about big cities to go there please tell me how i should decide whether to go there or not... thanks

You might think about a small school in a major city. That would give you the experience of living in a large urban environment but the comfort/safety of a small collegiate community.

thanks… i already sent in my application and if i get accepted i will want to go but i just think i would be out of place

Our school is a very small, rural public–about 55 kids per graduating class. Most of our kids go in-state and by far, most of those go to one of the Big10 schoools, slightly fewer students than you state, but not by much. Several kids and parents here share your concern, but it usually works out by first or second semester. There are smaller “communities” and groups within the larger campus. It might just take a little more time to find your niche.

Would UCF be “out of state” for you?

Would paying OOS tuition be affordable?

What attracts you to UCF (I’m just curious; it’s a fine school)
