I love me some drunken debauchery, but I would like to do it with smart people.

Can someone give me an idea of a few colleges where the kids are smart, but also like to party?

How smart are we talking? Ivy League? Public U?

People drink and party almost everywhere…it would help if you were a bit more specific

Not quite Ivy league. Doesn’t really matter geographically, maybe on the east coast.

Any school a URM kid with a 3.5 GPA, 31 ACT and 2020 SAT can get into.

Rice would be a good reach, maybe consider schools like Wesleyan where the students are very liberal…

A URM with your stats has a reasonable shot anywhere. Penn, Dartmouth, Duke, Williams, Vandy fit the description well.

University of Mass-Amherst is a party school.

[University of Florida](http://www.ufl.edu)

I agree with hmom that a URM with your stats will be competitive most everywhere.

You might find this thread useful in thinking about the relative attractiveness of various top national universities.

I would add that you should look at many of the top publics which offer Honors and/or merit scholarship programs. Many of these publics will offer pretty dynamic social outlets, with most being far better than anything you’d find at most higher-ranked privates.

penn state

Wisconsin.

Colgate, Boston College, Bucknell, Lehigh, Lafayette.

LOL @ penn state. its a state school, most wont be smart. duke and dartmouth are top for academics + party

Yeah, I’m really looking for kids that are intellectual. So most state schools might not cut it…

What schools are similar to Duke and Dartmouth for academics combined with a good social scene?

with a 3.5/2020 you’re not gonna be hot stuff academically at any top 50 university. and regardless of your stats, the idea that kids at schools like Penn State will be too dumb for you to party with is absurd. how smart does someone need to be to party with you? a Nobelist?

Rice, Duke, Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, WashU, Georgetown, and Tulane would be good fits for you… keep in mind that even though u are URM, most of these places are still going to be low reaches for you.

I think Vandy, Tulane, and Emory meet what you’re looking for, perhaps Georgia Tech.

Are you kidding me?

^^no? its not a hard school to get into. you need like a 3.5

What does that have to do with intellect?
