SMART Scholarship

Does anyone have any insight on the competitiveness of this scholarship? Anyone here know of a recipient or the general stats you must have for this scholarship?

SMART Grant

you must be Pell Grant eligible, pursue one of a list of certain math/science majors, keep a high GPA, etc. You are not competing against any one else, just matching yourself to the list.

SMART scholarship is different to SMART grant. I am so knowledeable  Actually I was going to post a similar reply about SMART grant but googled SMART scholarship and found the following

SMART - Science, Mathematics & Research for Transformation - Part of the National Defense Education Program

It is a pretty good scholarship so I would guess it is pretty competitive. It also requires a service commitment of 12 months for every year the scholarship is received.

I had one of their coordinators come to my college. They said:
Have to be at least a freshman when applying (High School Seniors cannot apply)
16.5% ish acceptance rate
11% for undergrad acceptance
you have to work for them as long as you receive the scholarship (ie. they pay for two years of school, you owe them two years of work)

I had forgotten about that one, thanks Swimmom, you are so smart ;)
