Smeal Business vs. Eberly Science - HELP

<p>So here's the thing</p>

<p>I'm just finished my sophomore year for actuarial science major at Smeal. I would like to transfer to Statistics major w/ actuarial science option for Eberly. I believe a Stat major would give me more options in the future, while still being able to be an actuary, where as the pure act. sci. major pigeonholes me into that occupation.</p>

<p>So my main question is:</p>

<p>Does a Smeal grad have an advantage over an Eberly grad from recruiting companies? In terms of prestige, job prospects, etc.? In other words, Am I downgrading myself by making this move?</p>

<p>I don’t know. I do know two Smeal actuarty graduates living it up with great jobs in NYC from the last few years so I know Smeal has great recruiting. Once in a job I figure it’s pretty easy to move around the company.</p>
