Are there any stories/experiences of the School of the Mueseum of Fine Arts? I'm very interested in the school. Any information on the atmosphere, location, facilities would be great!

The atmosphere of the place is one of the things I liked best about it. It’s small without feeling overly small; versus Mass Art, which to me felt a bit big and more industrial. SMFA felt more homey, but it’s still big enough that there’s a lot to do and explore there. Plenty of classes, and a lot of flexibility in the program, which is a major benefit. You can also take classes at Mass Art and I think you can take some at Tufts, Emerson, Northeastern, and at some of the schools on the Fenway.

The facilities are good. The one thing they’re missing is the ability to blow glass, but you can do stained glass, slumped glass and stuff like that, if you’re interested.

I think the location is fabulous. It’s one of my favorite sections of Boston. It’s not right in the middle of the city - it’s sort of down the street from the middle of the city. It’s across the street from the MFA, and you’ll get in free there, so you really do spend a lot of time there. The Gardner museum is down the block, there are a ton of other colleges extremely nearby, and there’s a T stop a block away, with a very short ride into the rest of Boston. The neighborhood is urban, but fairly safe.
