Smith College early decision date for class of 2026

Good morning my daughter has applied early decision for Smith College. Does anyone have any insight into when the acceptance letters will come out. From what I can research from the past it was around December 15? We are new to this so we are getting very excited hopefully she is able to get in!

No further insight other than my daughter telling me her college counselor said by 12/15 for ED notifications. Meanwhile, I have a question about whether there is a parent recommendation letter? I have read that Smith has invited parents to write a letter on behalf of theme daughters. It’s optional I hear so wondering if Smith will email us or if my daughter chose not to have us submit one. I’d love to write one but she is being very independent and private about the process and hasn’t mentioned it.

Hi! I did not hear of a parent letter so I assume there wasn’t one. I could be wrong though. I know she had I think 3 letters sent in two from school and one from a personal reference. Thank you for letting me know you think it is December 15. We are really excited! Good luck to your daughter in getting in as well!

We wrote one and I believe there’s still time. Daughter is class of 2025, settling in well and very happy even though it was not a top choice for her.

My daughter received the email that December 16 between 400 PM and 600 PM the decisions will be made!

Good luck to everyone! Do you know whether like in other years any of the students who applied ED have started a thread? I wasn’t able to find one. Thanks!

Thanks!! We were all counting down until today but one more day it is!

There doesn’t seem to be much on CC discussion with Smith this year. I hope people will chime in today and tomorrow though.

Good luck to all who are waiting for the results. For parents, if your child is admitted, please join the Smith Parents and Families Facebook group (the closed one). Lots of good support and advice.

12 hours to go! My poor daughter has to have surgery for removing her tonsils this morning, hopefully tonight she will feel better by getting accepted! I worry that tears of joy or sadness will irritate her incisions! They are predicting 3 weeks of bed rest.

I hope your daughter’s surgery went well this morning. Wishing you good luck and an acceptance and some ice cream would definitely help!!

It was a really rough day!!! But what a feeling at 400!!! We were ready me and my wife with our surprise t shirts that said " our daughter is a smithie". I just sent the join request to the Facebook page Smith College Parents and Families group. I am sure since it is such a small college our daughters will at least know each other! Her name is Sydney from East Aurora NY just south of Buffalo NY. Congratulations to you and your daughter i can totally relate to how you feel right now!

If I other girls that were accepted for ED 1 are interested my daughter Sydney Gunner has already started a page for the girls that were accepted on Instagram. I guess a few girls have already joined it! I do not know anything about Instagram so if anyone can not find her on it let me know and I can ask her!

My daughter did not ED1 anywhere and has just decided to apply to Smith ED2. Issue is that she already applied to Smith RD a few weeks ago. There doesn’t seem to be a way to flip her application or access the ED2 form online. Do you think this will be a problem with the admissions office closed and the deadline of January 2? Should she just email admissions? She did an interview with a current senior but does not know who her assigned admissions officer is.
