My S got into Smith and given the instate tuition it will be hard to justify not going there unless he gets into some of his higher reach schools and gets decent financial aid (Cornell, Michigan etc). He also got into Kelley. I find it a bit odd that for some reason Smith no longer has its career placement report online either for last year or even 2015. Hope they rectify that since career outcomes is an especially valuable metric for b-school wannabees. They must be updating it. It seems like Smith is a great school but doesn’t crack the top 20 for undergrad (or grad) bschools. Given it’s trajectory, I’m confident it will in next 10 years or so. Are there other parents out there wrestling with this situation and have any thoughts on Smith’s future?
@parentbethesda I see that your son also got into Kelley, too. Does he have a preference for one over the other?
By chance, did your son apply to University of Wisconsin too?
He’s leaning towards Maryland though there are a number of schools who haven’t made a decision that could sway that. He didn’t apply to Wisconsin.
I have a kid graduating from Smith this year. He was offered scholarship at IU/Kelley, and a huge scholarship at Miami Ohio. He loved his UMD experience and will have a great job when he graduates. No complaints from me,
