Smoking in college?

They do tax the **** out of cigs. In Chicago, it's around 7.50 for a pack. Needless to say, I buy my cigs in Peoria (where I am from) when I'm visiting at 3.25 a pack and import.

I smoke when I drive, when I drink sometimes, when I'm at a 24 hour diner like Denny's, and that's about it. I don't have a "need" - I just enjoy smoking.

I'm a nonsmoker - I've tried it, and I just felt weird.
Besides that, at 5 bucks a pack, I have sooooo many other things I'd like to spend my money on!

*As a nonsmoker I would be fine living with someone who smokes when they're out and drinking/partying whatever, as long as they don't smoke in the dorm room, or smoke outside to the point where they drag the smell in with them constantly.

wrath, I disagree with you. I am not underage and actually did not start smoking until I was mere months within turning 18. Starting smoking had nothing to do with being rebellious. I mean, give me a break - its cigarettes. I also think a lot of people who start smoking to look cool actually start in college, because that's when they are partying more.

I didn't really smoke until college. I ended up meeting people and talking with them outside and hey, smoking gives you something to do with your hands.

it doesn't feel like the "cool" thing to do, at all. usually I feel more defensive about it than not. it's like, smokers are people too.

and neverborn - $7.50 for a pack?! holy crap! I think I really would quit then...
