heehee. i don't get it at all.

I am proud of you for admitting the Banana Split was above your abilities. You know best whether you can stand the challenges this dessert creates.

Know thyself, know thy fit. There are more belts at the school store, no doubt.

public vs boarding?

=) just a guess..haha i dont get these things easily

It's deciding which BS to go to. There are tons of threads like that nowadays, and this is making fun of all the kids asking for help with their decisions.

I don't know if I would go so far as to say making fun of the kids. Rather it has been an exercise in perspective at a pretty stressful time for everyone.

Thanks for the Betty Crocker Hotline tip, PlantFan. Honestly, I think it was a virus. Her appetite has perked up considerably and she is ready for a whole buffet of desserts again.

Kids need some breathing room.

haha ooh
like i said i dont get it =)
never use sarcasm with me, i never get it either.

You're right, I was too harsh with my words.

6 seconds

I'm bumping up this thread to remind kids that what works for one is completely wrong for another student. Find what suits you.

This was hillarious.

Just have to say it.

I can't even think of a decent response for this thread.

My I suggest the lesser known desserts though, like the Marzipan.
I personally love Kolache, a Czech bread dessert. Very good, although very unheard of for most people. It's no where near as prestgious as the s'more or bannana split though. Look at your other options, and make sure you have the capability and taste to eat the full dessert.

O! Kolaches for me.
NO! not unheard of for me!! I actually know how to make Kolaches. My mother taught me when I was little (she is 1st generation Czech). My personal favorite is apricot, but many people like the poppy seed.

(Didn't add much to the metaphor except that no matter how obscure your tastes may seem, the world is big enough to find others who share them - thankfully.)

Banana split-s'mores are too sweet... and who doesn't enjoy ice cream w/ an actual piece of fruit?? lol

Totally off topic (kind of)

My great-great grandmother and grandfather were a defectees (sp?) from Czech. The recipe got passed down through the generations. It seemed to skip over my mom though. I've made them once, but I lost the recipe. i'm dieing for some cherry ones lately. I'm about to order them off the internet from the Kolache Factory.

(Well, I guess that could hold a metaphor, a legacy metophor maybe?)

With all the new "This school vs. that school" threads that keep popping up, I thought it might be time to bump up this thread.

I can't decide between a cheese plate and a brownie.

mmmm i'd have to say...banana split. ice cream is too good to pass up

I completely forgot about this thread...

lol Good times... Good times...

Well, I had a friend that had fondue for desert.

It’s a traditional Swiss dessert that costs $60,000 a year, but it’s supposedly the most prestigious dessert in the world. I’ve heard mixed reviews on it.

Thanks for revitalizing this thread. LOL

I believe this is where I state my duty to remind everyone that while s’mores and banana splits are both great, you might also consider some of the more regional desserts such as Moon Pies and RC Cola Floats which, while not as well-known, pack just as much flavor.

S’mores ftw.

It is nothing fancy, but we have an apple tree in our backyard. Plain and simple apples, but dependably good season after season. We live in a state that is famous for great apples. In fact, our apples go everywhere, once they are fully grown due to the great demand. Our apples are also very versatile and add to whatever environment they are in; from all american apple pie to more exotic cuisine.
