S'mores vs. Banana Split

Personally, I would go for the Whoopie Pie. The Whoopie Pie has always been a good reliable option here in New England - really traditional and consistently good. It has always been underappreciated or unrecognized outside the New England region - in fact, many of my friends from elsewhere in the country have never heard of it! But it’s merits are finally being recognized and appreciated at a National level. Finally, the Whoopie Pie is having it’s heydey and seems to be in vogue. Part of me wishes it would remain undiscovered and a regional hidden gem, however.

I recently decided that I’m going with Cr

My uncle hadn’t heard of creme brule up until the other day when I was telling him about it. He thought I was insane for even thinking up such an idea. I toldhim many enjoy it’s goodness, and that its far misunderstood here in the Idaho area, but he didn’t believe me.

I think it really depends on what kind of chocolate. It has to be hersheys. And is the banana from Ecuador? Thats where the best bananas come from.

omg both :)

haha i love how into this everyone is. But smores all the way.

Hhahah
Seriously, I like both too:)
It depends on my mood.
OOH AND A SHIRLEY TEMPLE<3

Shirley Temples are desserts?

They are delicious regardless.

Bump for 2010

There are S’mores in front of me right now. Problem is, if I eat them I know I wont be able to eat the Banana Split, which has been my dream all along. Unfortunately the boat with the bananas has yet to show up. What should I do? The S’mores are dated April 10th, so I have to make my mind up!

Banana Split all the way  <3

Ha! 1881 post :D

Why doesn’t anyone consider just plain ice cream? I know it doesn’t sound as “special” as those fancier desserts, but for a lot of kids, it might just be the right choice.

There’s a place in Western Massachusetts, for example, where the ice cream is made fresh from milk from their own dairy cows . . . really! I guess if you’re thinking about serving it at a really elegant dinner party, with lots of famous people, it might not be fancy enough . . . but that’s not really my S’s style, anyway.

In Pennsylvania, depending on what flavor you order, there’s a place where the chef will bring it to your table himself, and introduce himself by his first name! Again, not everyone’s style . . . but I rather enjoy that homey flavor and feel.

My favorite, though, will always be the ice cream I had when I was a kid growing up in Northern California. It’s a local brand, not very well known . . . but you’d be surprised how much they end up shipping to the 5-star restaurants on the other side of the country!

I thought desserts could only expire on weekdays . . . April 10 is a Saturday this year! Doesn’t that mean you can keep 'em in the fridge 'til Monday?

I’m really dissapointed because I went to the store and they were out of banana splits!!! I asked them to let me know asap when they get more and they said that I may have a slim chance of getting one, but if I do they would be expired. :frowning: On the other hand, I thought that getting smores would be no problem as they are not nearly as prestigious as banana splits, but when I drove to the store on march 10, they were also sold out… I suppose that I’ll have to stay home and eat rice…

I know being stuck with nothing but rice can be depressing, but if you or your parents can find some milk, sugar and cinnamon, you might be able to turn it into something you can live with for a year. I know there are families who’ve had a lot of success with making their own desserts when they just had no other options.

Thanks for the advice, hopefull, with enough work, I’ll be able to make rice pudding someday…

Oh my gosh, it’s a heart-wrenching decision. Both present great gustatory opportunities; however, my mother chose the split, whereas ALL of my friends are going for the s’more. I’m afraid I won’t know anyone in the exclusive split-eating club.
Both are sending me tons of messages - they are letting me have a few free samples, just to see what it would like, but now I think their expecting an obligatory commitment. sigh
I actually do not feel that I am yet qualified of making such a distinguished decision. I guess that I’ll stick to the local ice cream parlor for another year, and then take another look. I just hope my stats, particularly my weight, stay excellent.

BANANAR SPLIT!!! S’mores are too sweet and banana splits are just much more tasty.

i prefer smores. this is serious stuff

I am honestly VERY upset at Banana Splits. Just recently, I found out that my friend wasn’t given a banana split that he rightfully deserved because he didn’t have the money to pay for it! How outrageous is that?!?! Honestly, he had the qualifications to have it; no cavities, perfect dental record, 487.0 GPA (out of 4.0), and a PhD in every major from Harvard. He is ENTITLED to that banana split for free! He is much more qualified than 95% of banana split eaters! Honestly, those elitist ice cream companies ought to just stop business, because I know they have just lost a customer (ME)! I think I’m going to switch to smores now, because of their newly instituted need-blind policy.
