@syd24ranger - Be relaxed and be yourself! My son went through the process last year and was selected as a PS. There are lots of opportunities to meet the other candidates, team building activities, etc. In addition to the formal interviews, you will meet faculty, alumni, and current students throughout the weekend. It is a great program! Good luck!
Did any of you get any other email or mail after receiving the confirmation of interview details? im pretty lost on where I’m supposed to be when I get there Thursday
@colorfulhuman I haven’t gotten any other email besides the confirmation but I followed up about it yesterday.
The new advisor for the PS program is pretty frazzled; SMU has her managing a full time teaching job, all fellowship advising, and the PS program. She should have a schedule created by the time you get to SMU to interview.
Helpful hints to all those coming to campus to interview: Each individual’s interviews can be drastically different. Some will be asked tough questions related to current events in their field while others will have a more lighthearted conversation that doesn’t feel like an interview at all. If you hear someone saying “oh that was so tough” or “that was a breeze” don’t pay any attention, just because you left wanting to cry/or jumping for joy, doesn’t mean you will or won’t get the scholarship.
Ask current scholars questions; none of them can influence the selection process so even if you told one of them you thought they had any ugly haircut and a bad personality, it wouldn’t change anything.
There’s a waitlist - if you don’t get the scholarship, you might still get the scholarship; many current scholars, if not most of them, were originally on a waitlist and were offered a scholarship when others declined their position. (You are notified if you’re on the waitlist I believe.)
The PS is an opportunity, but this weekend is to help you and your decisions for college. Ask questions. Find out what your fit is.

When my daughter attended the PS event last year they said point blank in a Q and A session with the parents that there was not a wait list for the scholarship. However, after the event she was informed she was indeed on a wait list for the PS scholarship. By that time, she had received admissions decisions from other schools that were a better fit so she declined the wait list. SMU really rolled out the red carpet during her visit. The campus is beautiful, and the facilities are great. Good Luck to all attending this year.

I agree with @Houston1021. Last year, everyone was told repeatedly that there was not wait list, and I believe this was how the program had been handled in previous years. The year prior, there was a low number of PS which is why I believe the wait list was implemented last year. But then they ended up with a record number of PS. 
So, there is no guarantee that there will be a wait list or not for this year.
As @ThePSprogramszn mentioned, there is a new organizer this year who has lots of other responsibilities as well. Please be patient because it is a wonderful program that provides so many opportunities for those students selected.
If you planned to stay overnight, your student host should have already been in contact with you. You can always ask them questions. They won’t have a detailed schedule, but will be happy to answer questions. Good luck everyone!!

Not necessarily @dalow19. As I recall last year, the phone calls didn’t all go out at once. But I imagine everyone should hear soon. Did they give any timetable when they would be contacting everyone this year?
@momoftres they said “by next week” but I heard that if we aren’t called by Monday or Tuesday then we likely didn’t receive it.
