<p>SMU is a very crappy university that is very easy to get into by Singaporeans/students applying to Singapore. It is never linked to prestige. It is a place for NUS rejects.</p>

<p>I just scheduled an interview with SMU, no news bout scholarship, and all i heard about it on the web is how crappy it is...
Well, i got a 20k scholarship to the us, so that's my backup, so unless they offer me a full one, bye bye SMU...</p>

<p>If you have a 20k scholarship to the US, you should definitely go.....</p>

<p>In fact if you want to come to Singapore and study, SMU should be your last choice seriously. SMU is not exactly popular with Singapore students (they would choose NUS over SMU anyday, and the reason is obvious.)</p>

<p>The applicant pool to SMU also very crappy. Don't jump if they claim that you are their top 1%.... The general cohort at SMU has rather crappy grades when compared to NUS...</p>
