Okay, so my dad just came home from work and said that someone in his office told him that Rice had a big problem with snakes in the dorm rooms. I am ABSOLUTELY PARANOID about snakes in rooms... Can anyone confirm/refute this?

I have never heard anything about this. There was a homeless person who showed up in a Will Rice room, but that's not really the same thing.

whaat? there's got to be a story there, Dorian_Mode....do share.

Oh good. I am really terrified of snakes.

Well, it's no one I know personally, but apparently a homeless person wandered into a Will Rice suite while the occupants were on the other side playing video games. They didn't even know he was there until RUPD showed up.

I've never heard of anyone finding a snake in their room.

I've never heard of anyone even seeing a snake on Rice campus.

Neither kids have mentioned it... and we're going on 4 years now....

Moral of the story: LOCK YOUR DOOR.

But otherwise, I've never heard anything about a snake problem.

If you don't go to rice because you fear snakes in the dorms, you'll be posting there later.
(I know it says "applied," but same difference)

i love snakes!

Hey! Don't mock the phobia!

I've never heard of a snake on the campus either, but as for homeless people, apparently some year a homeless person got into Brown and someone who had left their door unlocked came home to find him in their bed. Eww.

wel i heard at yale or harvard they have mice in some of the dorms...
i guess if they had snakes too that would solve the mice problem =P

Checked with DD and she has not heard of anyone having snakes, nor has she seen any.

no.... but will rice has a snake painted on the walls on one of its staircases... it goes up three floors, and I think it has a name, but I'm not sure what it is.
I saw an eagle on campus once... so I'm sure those would scare away all the snakes.

Oh good. Thanks guys.

Just adding another "I've never heard my s mention a snake in his 4 yrs at Rice" to continue to reassure you.
