Snow & Ice

Just a quick random question I was hoping someone could answer:

How is IU's snow removal/shovelling?

As a veteran of an ice storm and multiple blizzards, I'd like to know if IU is good at clearing their sidewalks. I know that my parents said UK was great about keeping walkpaths clear, and I know from personal experience that UofL isn't. (Those are my two local schools, FYI.) So, how's IU stack up?

I was surprised how bad they are at taking care of the snow. Last year there were a couple days when we were joking that we would’ve been better off ice skating to class than walking. Sad thing was, we weren’t kidding. Fee Lane, the Arboretum, and the smaller paths got blown off and were always dangerously slippery. If the sidewalks aren’t snowy, they’re slushy.

I slipped and fell on ice many times last year. The sidewalks that are heavily frequented, like the ones on 10th and 3rd streets were usually well cleared. There were other walkways on campus that were still well-populated though that were just bad. We had an ice storm last year where they ended up canceling classes for about a day or so and being outside was just dangerous and scary no matter where you were.
