So 9 kids are applying from my school, do I still have a shot. Im above range, I visited (so did 8/9 other kids) but I didnt have an interview. My essays were good IMO.

But 9 kids??!!!! Are we compared against each other? If that sounds bad, 16 kids applied to WUSTL and 8 to Duke. And we only have 182 kids.

I think 9 might be ok...you may be compared against eachother slightly, but if you are all really good applicants, I think you would all have a shot. Like 80 kids out of 400 apply to Harvard, Princeton, etc from my school and we have basically been told we're being compared against eachother because they obviously cannot take that many from one school. I think in comparison, 9 isn't too bad.

relax.. im from canada and therez 25 ppl from my school applying to all ivy leagues as well as nw... and duke i belive.. so.. yeah.. they are all keeners >< so consider yourself lucky

My roommate has 15 classmates here with him. Although his class was like 700 people and is like 20 minutes away from campus, so lots of people always go to NU from his school.

If it makes u feel better, my school is about the same size and has approx. 1/3 applying to NU. At least 20 to most of the big and Ivy schools, too.

I believe that almost 100% of the people in the top 10% of my class (about 70 ppl) are applying to Northwestern. From last year's count, about 30 were accepted. I don't know if they compare between students, but they might.

Northwestern accepts about 5% of my high school class every year. No offense, but NU isn't nearly as selective as HYP. It's conceivable that all 9 of you could be accepted.
