<p>I guess I started this thread to see if any other so cal kids were having the same doubts about HPME as me.
After visiting, I realized that while I thought the med school and evanston campuses were cool and the kids really great, the weather was horrible, and that NW is really quite far away from home.
I never thought that would be all that important to me but now that I am deciding between Stanford, USCs Bac/MD, adn HPME it seems to have become a pretty major factor in my decision.
Any thoughts on this? How the adjustment -- obviously it varies between individuals but in the general sense how long does it take to get used to it? USC is slightly cheaper (1-2G) and doesnt have the traveling costs...though it is one year longer than NW for ugrad.
Also, does anyone know how tough it is to apply out of NW for med school? I know approx 1/3 of the Bac/MD class applies out and leaves for schools like Johns Hops, UCLA, etc.</p>
