Hello Everybody:

My name is Sydney, I'm a 15 year old peruvian student in the last year of her high school education. Due to my last year I need to choose a college to apply the next year and one of my biggest dreams was always get into Harvard, I perfectly know that is nearly impossible for a student, especially if you come from a country like Perú where most of the students just are off the "high" level of Harvard.

But I don't care, I mean... I'm just gonna be happy if I apply, even if they don't admit me, the fact I could apply, travel, take the SAT's and just try makes me feel like a winner, but If I get in it's gonna be better.
I just wanna ask for information about the tests, I know I have to take the "SAT I" but I don't know exactly what "SAT Subjet" I should take if I plan going to the Psychology Faculty, and of course I'd like to know how much have to be my score?.
So please answer, it's very important to me.

ummm im pretty sure u could take ne tests, check with the website

remember u have to take 3

and try to make the scoress 700+

Dont feel inferior.....by saying that you dont have the 'high level' you are denting your self confidence....something hardvard admits have quite a bit of....

AS for SAT subject tests.........do Math level 2....a science....and whatever else you want to..........- like the admission site says

oh and dont choose 'a college'........considering the 'rejection rate' you might want a couple of safeties.....

Harvard like any top school wants diversity and they do realize that some countries do not offer equivalent opportunities to the US......so dont worry............too much

Um, you are only 15? That, I fear, could be something you will need to address. I would guess that the schools you apply to, even if you are an international, and especially if you are an international, applying at 15-16. When are you looking at going to school,. fall of 06 or 07. Because if you are finishing high school now, are you applying this fall for next year?

I am confused. What is the Peruvian school year, and when do you graduate?

Hey, thank you very much for the information and the encourage, darthadoous.
I really appreciate that.

And citygirlsmom, Well... I'll finish the school this winter (December, 2006). Here in Perú (south hemisphere) the seasons are the other way around...so Summer starts in December until March (this is the time when students start an academic year). I think to travel US the next year and apply of course. Thank you for answer.

AHHHH, I get it. Its a good thing you are starting early and if you finish in December, you would start in the Fall of 2007....cool

So you would be 17 when you start college, that makes sense

The collegeboard website should answer most of your questions

Good luck and happy summer

Yeah, I think is better is I'm prepared. The next let's try Harvard...
Well, thanks for all your advice.
