So I filled out my FAFSA and Cal Grant application, and in my Cal Grant Award Detail, it appears to show an award for $12,000 specifically at UC Berkeley. Obviously UC Berkeley hasn’t released decisions yet, so I am confused as to why my Cal Grant portal would say this. Is it a mistake?
Maybe its because UC Berkeley was the first school on your list, so it defaulted to it. I know that you can change the school later on.
Exactly as @collegesplzz stated. The school automatically awarded is the highest on your FAFSA. I placed UC Berkeley at the top, and that is automatically where it went, despite not receiving any decisions. If you need to, you can change it by clicking on “Submit School Change” on the Cal Grant main page.
