I've just recently heard abotu Questbridge from a senior friend of mine (I'm a junior) and I'm confused on the most basic point of all.

Are you supposed to be a JUNIOR or a SENIOR this year to be eligible for the scholarship?

From the website;

You must be planning to apply to college in the fall of 2011 to be eligible for the College Prep Scholarship. Applicants are typically current high school juniors.

...um, well, I'm a high school junior, and I'm definitely not graduating til 2012. I don't understand!

If you’re graduating in 2012, you’ll be applying to college in the fall/winter of 2011. This allows a few months for the review of applications.

Questbridge has two separate programs, one called National College Match that’s for seniors, and another called College Prep Scholarship for juniors in high schools. The two have different purposes:

The deadline is the end of March of your junior year.

The National College Match ([QuestBridge National College Match Program](http://www.questbridge.org/students/program.html)) is an alternative process of applying to college. Whereas normally, as high school seniors, you would be applying through the common application or an individual application of the college in question, selected Questbridge finalists apply through the program using a different application that allows for more room to explain family circumstances and so on. There are about thirty partner colleges accepting QB application, and the most important part is that, if admitted through QB, you’re guaranteed full four-year scholarships covering tuition and room and board.

The deadline is around the September of your senior year.
