So I got a 36 but...

Well today I found out I got a 36 (yay!) but I received an 8 (yuck!) on my writing. Is it worth retaking it so I can fix my writing score. My hands shake really bad when I'm just a little bit nervous so timed essays rather difficult. (Filling in bubbles is enough of a challenge.) I'm aiming for top-notch schools. I'm clearly proficient at English (5 on AP English Language exam). Will that cancel out, or at least make up for a rather average writing score?

You’re fine - the writing section is a joke as everyone knows.

Congratulations on the 36.

No. The essay score is almost negligible in admissions. Composite is all that matters.

In my opinion, it would be silly to take it again.

Your 36 speaks for itself

you are at the 99.99th percentile

you won’t lose out on admission because of your writing score.

I know that feeling. I got a 7 (51st percentile, apparently) on my writing but scored 36 across all sections.
