but i never asked for one. Is that a good thing or does it happen a lot?

that’s generally how interviews are initiated…lol

Yes, mine requested out of the blue.

That’s how all interviews are…

EDIT: all of mine have been*

Out of all the schools I applied to, the only ones that make you request your interview are Pomona College and Uni of Chicago. All the Ivy’s contact you, and they try and get an interview for every applicant.

Well i imagine they do not interview every applicant they have tho. Besides i usually get emails from the schools telling me to call a certain person. This time the interviewer called me. Thats why im kinda confused lol =)

Yes, in many states they do interview every applicant. As the poster above explained, the Ivy interviewers contact you–nothing exclusive or special to read into that- it’s just the method they use.

It happens 98% of the time, lol.

If the interviewer bows down to you, however, then I’d imagine you’re doing something good.

That is indeed the way Harvard alumni interviews are initiated. The alumnus/a receives your contact information and phones you – out of the blue, so to say. Harvard tries to interview every applicant in the US.
