<p>First, pull out your syllabus and look up the grading 'rules.' Every teacher has them. Then look to see if the teacher will round up...some do, some don't, but if your teacher said s/he would round up and forgot to, you have a legitimate question to ask. </p>
<p>Look in the syllabus about extra credit opportunities? If there was one available, did you avail yourself of it? If you did, then your 89 is already bonused by extra credit. If you did not avail yourself of the opportunity, too bad.</p>
<p>Look to see the rules about HW...do you recieve bonus points for 100% completion over the term? Did you earn all the bonus points?</p>
<p>Were you an active class participant? Did you earn all the participatory points?</p>
<p>Do you think any of your papers/project should be regraded, for a good reason, such as it was graded by a sub? If so, make a polite request.</p>
<p>But, if you missed any of the 'easy' points (HW, participation, extra credit), then you have no reason to ask for a higher grade.</p>
