So I have it from a low source within UCLA that...

people see URSA summary
same people get in following week
not a single reported case in which someone saw the summary before hand + rejection.

it was my understanding that you included the URSA thing as a ‘post about decisions’. if not, oops. if so, what more substantiation could you ask for?

no i completely agree ursa is sound evidence of acceptance. i was commenting on the numerous threads of people who supposedly know that decisions will be out on the 16th or the 23rd or whatever date. And it seemed like this is the first somewhat credible post like that.

Why exactly is this thread more credible?

Decisions came out April 23rd last year anyhow. I don’t see why they would come out later this year.

how is 22 later than 23?

and that equates to wednesday both years.

either way, i don’t see what you’re saying.

what is the 2-column 3-column thing? and what does it signify? currenty i have 3 columns but no FA info…

this information sounds pretty reliable considering how URSA is known to be updated before admissions decisions are postd

do you think that anybody other than the people on this site even know what URSA is at this point or do you think everyone just waits for actual decisions to come out? that’s how it seems with people i ask around at school, everybody goes “huh” when I mention it.

sweets- i don’t think anyone really knows, hahah. when i asked people about it they were so confused, we probably got the same responses but then i make them sign up and check their FA to see if theres a correlation with their stats. and it was only through CC that i even found out about ursa.

I went on and read posts from last year about the same time as all of us are stressing about the decisions date, finaid/ursa and what not showing up or not. If you have time to kill you, you could go and read about it (threads after 167 or something). Pretty interesting (and nerve wracking) to read those concerns and people’s stats, then a week later, see who got admitted/rejected.
Decisions will definitely start rolling out this coming week and continues as far as early May so for those who can’t see their FA summary ( including myself :frowning: ) not to be alarmed. All of those from last year who saw their FA before official decisions were accepted, and those who still didn’t see anything after the first batch of decisions came out found out later, as late as the 5th or 6th batch ( i think as late as may 5th or something, can’t remember).

The two column vs three column thing is simple

If you see two columns, you are in because on the left column, you are given the option to submit your SIR.

If you see three columns still by Friday, you are most likely going to be rejected.

SP is pretty credible so i’m not going to trip about it. And he’s a rugby player so he can probably kick my arse lol. But it makes sense that the decisions will come out on wednesday. That has always been the trend for transfers and freshmen.

has anyone seen 3 columns, seen their FA summary, and been rejected? hope not!

yea both mine nd my buddys both have 0 parent and 0 student contribution… not a surprise and 24637… altoghether

i decided to search for “ucla decisions 2008” and didn’t find any really good sources for information regarding people putting down their major, GPA, etc. It seems like people went wayyyy off topic and didn’t really post anything that would be relevent in look up stats for this years applicants. I really want to make sure that we don’t do that because it seemed almost impossible to find some good info. on ucla decisions from last year and it would have been really interesting/helpful to see that. If anybody finds a reputable thread that i missed, please share.

sweetnezz, i went on to read bunch of threads last night (time consuming). Threads dated around 4/20/08 had people put their GPA, Majors etc… then went to read later thread with " 1st batch decisions" " 2nd batch out" … or anyone of that kind and saw the familiar people mentioning whether or not they were accepted. I should have saved those links and put them on here. If i come across them again later on today, I will share it here.

sweetnezz998, I know there are indeed very informative posts from last year, the problem is, and it will happen again this year, so many similar topics were created and it caused the useful posts and threads to get lost.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/498655-official-ucla-08-admissions-thread-w-stats.html

k thanks! I typed in ucla decisions 2008 and like only 9 topics came up and a lot of them said UCLA official decisions 2008 but they were started in march of that year which was pointless and caused the first say 100 pages to be about NOTHING.

Thank you cheba63 :)

so let me make sure I have this all right…

starting monday evening URSA will be updated to giving students either 2 or 3 columns…
if you have 2 columns it means your in because it gives you the option to send in your intent of attending the school…

is that right?

and…3 column are bad…but if you see 3 columns right now then its not a big deal…?

Okay, so to make sure I’m understanding all this correctly:

 1. On Monday evening, people will begin to see two columns in URSA.
 2. On Wednesday evening, official decisions will begin to be released.
 3. If I do not see two columns in URSA by Friday, something is not good.
 4. Official decisions will continue to be released through the beginning of May.

Also, I had no idea what URSA was until I came here. My parents also think I’m insane for somehow being “almost absolutely sure” I’ll be accepted to UCLA.

even though you still see “3 column” past this friday, it doesn’t mean anything until the end of the decisions period ends (or until you get a “rejection” notice"), which can be as late as beginning of May. There will be several decisions batches coming out, if you’re not in this first one, you may be on the later ones.
