and I asked him "hm, do you still play Runescape?"

(is that a socially awkward question? =/) [would questions like "do you still watch Pokemon/do you still watch Power Rangers/etc" be an awkward questions? =/]

Runescape was out 6 years ago?
Damn, I feel old.

I guess it's not as bad as NetHack.

Reunions are awkward in general, because both of you have changed so much that you probably don't have anything in common anymore.

Yeah. 2002 was 6 years ago as amazing as it sounds. I still think of 2002 = 3 years ago... =/ (i have to consciously invoke 6)

That is an awkward way to greet someone you've not seen in six years.

whats so awkward about asking some that? if they are your friend, they wont care if say something stupid or not

They're not friends; they used to be acquainted six years ago. It's a weird way to greet someone after such a long time.

^^ she doesnt say whether they are acquaintances or friends. she said they last met 6yrs ago, not just met once 6yrs ago.

i'd say thats a socially acceptable question if they were pretty good friends. if they barely knew each other, theres not point in even being fb friends

I actually just Facebook friended someone I met and last saw in early 2002 as well. I met her at an activity at another school and we corresponded by e-mail for a while after that yet I hadn't heard from her in about six years by this point.
