<p>I've got it down to two topics</p>

<li><p>Founding/directing the children's choir at my church since freshman year</p></li>
<li><p>January-February 2009 (i went through a month of misdiagnoses before having surgery, my grandpa died, missed a month of school.... really bad time) and how it (1) showed me either my faith or (2) inspired me to study social science as well as bio (future premed here)</p></li>
</ol>

<p>definately not 2, colleges hate “dead grandma” stories, your essay should not try to pull on the adcom’s heart strings because they’ll think of it as you trying to force sympathy out of them</p>
