So I want to go to school in CALI, but I'm OOS.

I want to go to college in California, but the UCs all have like a 3% acceptance rate out of state. What are other colleges in California with a strong science department and good pre-med prep? My SAT score is in the 1900s, so that doesn't give me any chance at any of the Claremont McKenna colleges.

How are these colleges?
Loyola Marymount College
Santa Clara University

Can anyone give me any suggestions?

you may hate the idea but you can go to a cal community college and transfer easily after you get residency. plus its cheaper and you can choose where you want to live.

good luck

I think it's silly for you to think you don't have a chance at any of the Claremont Colleges.

If your GPA is good you definitely have a chance at Claremont Mckenna, Pitzer, and Scripps (if you're female). Pomona would be a slight reach.

Santa Clara and Loyola Marymount are excellent schools. As are Occidental and USC.

You might also wan to look at Chapman University

How about USC?

University of Southern California

imacrazyscientist:

With a 1950 SAT I score,
UCB/UCLA: Reach (out of state)
UCSD: Slight Reach (out of state)
UCI/UCD/UCSB: Match (out of state)
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Safe Match (out of state)

In addition to the other suggestions, check out U Redlands. The sciences are strong, and it's in a fairly nice college town.

bump bump bump
